Evolution of a method for determination of transfer functions of certain passive electrical networks

چکیده
Understanding analog circuit design primarily invloves becoming familiar with passive RC and RLC networks. This is due to the fact that circuit essentially involves active elements embedded in a network of parasitics: resistors, inductors and node capacitors. Other important signal processing circuits which are made up of passive elements are attenuators, ADCs and R-2R ladder networks in DACs. Interconnects in present day VLSI can be approximated as passive RLC low pass structures from node to node. A few years ago, I was asked a question Can anyone inuitively guess the location of poles and zeros of a network transfer function? I reframed the problem as obtaining the characteristic equation of a network in a simple and straightforward manner. Once the characteristic equation has been obtained, then the roots of the polynomial will give the poles of the system. Understanding any transfer function or immittance function using the network becomes pretty simple thereafter! A New Method for Detecting Ships in Low Size and Low Contrast Marine Images: Using Deep Stacked Extreme Learning Machines
Detecting ships in marine images is an essential problem in maritime surveillance systems. Although several types of deep neural networks have almost ubiquitously used for this purpose, but the performance of such networks greatly drops when they are exposed to low size and low contrast images which have been captured by passive monitoring systems. On the other hand factors such as sea waves, c...
متن کاملA New Fairness Index and Novel Approach for QoS-Aware Resource Allocation in LTE Networks Based on Utility Functions
Resource allocation techniques have recently appeared as a widely recognized feature in LTE networks. Most of existing approaches in resource allocation focus on maximizing network’s utility functions. The great potential of utility function in improving resource allocation and enhancing fairness and mean opinion score (MOS) indexes has attracted large efforts over the last few years. In this p...
متن کاملYarn tenacity modeling using artificial neural networks and development of a decision support system based on genetic algorithms
Yarn tenacity is one of the most important properties in yarn production. This paper addresses modeling of yarn tenacity as well as optimally determining the amounts of the effective inputs to produce yarn with desired tenacity. The artificial neural network is used as a suitable structure for tenacity modeling of cotton yarn with 30 Ne. As the first step for modeling, the empirical data is col...
متن کاملAnalysis and Comparison of Load Flow Methods for Distribution Networks Considering Distributed Generation
Conventional passive distribution networks are changing to modern active distribution networks which are not radial. Conventional load flow methods should be modified for new distribution networks analysis. In modern distribution networks distributed generation (DG) units are embedded with conventional and/or renewable resources. DG units are generally modeled as PV or PQ nodes which inject ...

A Back Propagation Artificial Neural Network (BPANN) is a well-known learning algorithmpredicated on a gradient descent method that minimizes the square error involving the networkoutput and the goal of output values. In this study, 261 GPS/Leveling and 8869 gravity intensityvalues of Iran were selected, then the geoid with three methods “ellipsoidal stokes integral”,“BPANN”, and “collocation” ...
